About us – Ileana Rivera

Ileana Rivera has ten years of experience specializing exclusively in immigration cases. Her philosophy is to provide you an honest assessment and best options for your immigration process.

She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Puerto Rico in 1993. After years of working as a manager in both the private and government sectors and witnessing injustices during those years, she decided to study law with the hope of helping others navigate the judicial system. In 2013, she earned her Juris Doctor from Interamerican University, passed the bar exam, and became a member of the Puerto Rican Bar and the U.S. District Court.

The attorney’s legal experience is diverse. She has practiced criminal defense with the Public Defender’s Office of Puerto Rico, clerked for a U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge, interned at the Interamerican University Legal Clinic, and worked pro bono for the Puerto Rico Bar Association. Most notably, she spent two years working for the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, where she created and implemented an educational program to inform visitors about the judicial system and the history of the Supreme Court.

In 2014, the attorney co-founded a law firm in partnership with an experienced immigration attorney. Since then she has managed and owned several law firms. In 2023, she established Immigration Universe Attorneys, where she practices U.S. Immigration Law across the United States and its territories. She is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and provides CLE courses for the members.
